Hall of Fame
Robert “Bob” Catapano has had a fantastic record as a coach over his 36 years spent teaching and coaching in Wake County Public School System. During his 20 year stint as a soccer coach at Sanderson High School, he led teams to 17 conference championships, nine NCHSAA State championships, and two NCHSAA co-championships.
In 1983, he became Sanderson High School’s athletic director and developed their Athlete’s Student Code of Conduct, which has been used by schools throughout the district. During his tenure with WCPSS he was a leader among athletic directors’, impacting athletics in throughout the district. Bob has been inducted into the North Carolina Athletic Directors Hall of Fame and North Carolina High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame.
Bob Catapano was inducted into the Wake County Public School System Hall of Fame in 2016.
