100% of gifts to WakeEd will remain in Wake County to support nationally recognized programs developed in collaboration with our Wake County Public School System.

  • Teacher Innovation Grants: Since this program’s inception, WakeEd has awarded more than $1.5 million in grants to support innovative classroom projects.
  • STEMpact: WakeEd’s award-winning STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programs build meaningful relationships between schools and businesses, to create engaging, project-based learning experiences for Wake County students.
  • First Steps in Literacy: WakeEd is committed to improving early literacy through Partners Read, a program that gives books to struggling first graders and assigns mentors from the business community to help them develop confidence in reading.

Ask your employer about their matching gift policy.

Many companies will match the gifts employees give to nonprofits. Talk with your employer about matching your gift to WakeEd Partnership through United Way.
