Thanks to you, our programs have touched teachers and students in 98 local schools and have engaged more than 50 businesses and organizations in supporting public education. Every dollar that you give helps strengthen Wake County schools, supporting teachers so that they can set students up for success after graduation.
Consider these reasons for making a one-time or recurring donation to WakeEd Partnership:
#1: Support Hardworking WCPSS Teachers
Think about a great teacher – someone who encouraged you, inspired you, or pushed you to your fullest potential. These exceptional teachers are hard at work in Wake County and they need your support. Our programs fund innovative classroom projects, provide award-winning opportunities for collaboration and professional development, and create opportunities for student success in early literacy. Above all, we support and empower teachers, so they can achieve the dreams they have for their students.
#2: Bring Innovative Education to WCPSS
You can bring innovative, 21st century learning to Wake County students. Because of your support, we can give money directly to teachers to fund exciting classroom projects and professional development opportunities.
WakeEd has awarded more than $1.5 million in grants to WCPSS teachers.
#3: Help a Child Learn to Read
When children can’t read on grade-level by the 3rd grade, they are more likely to drop out of school, live in poverty, or become negatively involved in the judicial system. It only takes $100 to pair a struggling first-grade student with a volunteer reader and give them 10 books for their personal library. Your donation is at work for an entire school year, as each student becomes more confident and excited about reading.
#4: Strengthen our Community
The quality of public education in Wake County is important for everyone. Wake County schools are building up future business owners and industry leaders, and they are preparing students to be active participants in the community. Our nationally recognized World Cafe and SummerSTEM programs engage the business community in providing resources and support for local schools.
