The annual Stars of Education gala and dinner, presented by PNC, celebrates and honors those who form the backbone of public education in our schools.

As a special honor, WakeEd has named its Lifetime Achievement Award in honor of Dr. Robert E. Bridges, former Wake County Public School System Superintendent. Dr. Bridges dedicated his life to education in Wake County.

In addition, WakeEd presented the prestigious Vernon Malone Friend of Education Award and inducted six new members into the WCPSS Hall of Fame. Also honored were the 2016-2017 recipients of Teacher Innovation Grants.


The following community leaders were inducted into the Wake County Public School System Hall of Fame:
