The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) Hall of Fame honors outstanding alumni and community leaders who have either deeply impacted WCPSS through their career and/or, as an alumnus, dramatically added to the quality of life in our city, state or nation.

WakeEd accepts nominations year-round and the inductees are selected each June to be honored at our Stars of Education gala.

Recipients are recognized for their exemplary professional and/or personal accomplishments and their commitment and dedication to furthering the mission and success of public education in Wake County. Each year, six individuals are inducted into the Hall of Fame, with one inductee representing each of the following categories:

  • Education
  • Business
  • Arts
  • Athletics
  • Community
  • Entrepreneurship.

Criteria for Nomination
Nominee should demonstrate a history of unselfish service to public education in Wake County through employment, community service or volunteer efforts.
Nominees should be passionate about maximizing the academic potential of every child.
If business person, nominees should demonstrate history of partnering with WakeEd and/or WCPSS.
If educator, nominee should demonstrate history of partnering with businesses to improve education.
