WakeEd Partnership’s Teacher Innovation Program invests “venture capital” in educators’ great ideas.
Right now, educators are diligently developing proposals, hoping to receive an investment of $1000-$3000 to launch their innovative ideas. In order to be funded, each grant must go through a rigorous grading process. That is where your time and expertise are required.
We need volunteers to read and score proposals from some of Wake County’s brightest teachers! Each grant is roughly 2 – 3 pages and must be read and scored by 3 readers. Each reader will read NO MORE than 5 grants, or a total of 15 pages. WakeEd will provide you with all of the materials you need to score the grants.
The best part about this volunteer effort is that you may complete your task at your convenience. All scoring is completed online using a simple web-based application. Volunteer readers are asked to
- Attend a one-hour Reader’s Workshop the week of May 9. Three available sessions are detailed in the form below.
- Read and score grants beginning May 12 and concluding no later than May 31st.
I am hopeful you will contribute to educational innovation in our schools and support educators through your service as a Teacher Innovation proposal reader. Feel free to contact Director of Programs, Teresa Pierrie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The deadline to sign up to volunteer is Wednesday, May 3!
