Internship Goal:  Develop a portfolio of experiences that demonstrate program management in a non-profit environment

 

Experiences:

First Steps in Literacy Programs

  • Attend training for literacy programs, including Partners Read and Family and Community Engagement events
  • Provide site support to elementary schools and partnering agencies, including Wake County Public School System Literacy Department to ensure program materials and execution are consistent
  • Support Marbles Kids Museum Title I prekindergarten family engagement program
  • Collaborate in development of evaluation materials and create program infographics

 

STEMpact

  • Develop communications plan for World Café
  • Identify and engage businesses and organizations to attend World Café 2017
  • Collaborate with partners, including Wake County Public School System Magnet Department, to develop event applications and assist with school-business matching process
  • Aggregate and present evaluation data on SummerSTEM to create engaging impact documents

 

Stars of Education

  • Manage Teacher Innovation recipients participation in event, including attendance, parking, and recognition
  • Collaborate with Director of Marketing and Communications Intern on program collateral materials
  • Coordinate with Vice President of Fund Development on sponsorships and ticket sales
  • Support Vice President of Fund Development with event logistics – name tags, table assignments, decorations, etc.
  • Attend event to support WakeEd staff in their various roles

 

WakeEd Activities

  • Attend WakeEd events, including meetings, as your schedule allows
  • Monitor WakeEd communications to increase understanding of WakeEd
